So I built this guitar - or modified beyond recognition - this steel guitar. This was the backbone of country and western music in the 50s and evolved as an instrument with the music over the next decade or two. I found you can buy this part which apes some of the sound of the more mechanically advanced pedal steel guitar - so I got it. It sort of went from there - I was listening to stuff and building additional parts and levers to be able to play more things I heard. 

I like it as my own little parallel route of invention, an alternate history - but in mine it ended up frankensteinian. A Frankensteel.
