Announcing CCA x Jerwood = Supports

CCA Derry~Londonderry is honoured to be one of the beneficiaries of the Jerwood Developing Artist Fund. Entitled CCA x Jerwood = Supports, this two-year development programme a support for early career artists and curators will begin in 2023.

CCA joins 15 other programmes across the UK as part of Jerwood Arts' £1million of funding for leading arts organisations to delivery transformative programmes tailored to what early-career artists, curators and producers need now. It’s clear the pathways and networks will provide important support and confidence to artists enabling them to build their networks and develop more sustainable careers for the long-term."

This fund is vital in enabling us to build upon our previous work supporting artists and significantly expand our activity at a time of urgent need for artists in the north. We hope this fund will boost the careers not only of artists working today, but future generations too through much-needed research and development that will feed into Northern Ireland-wide strategies.”

CCA x Jerwood = Supports was developed by CCA with Researcher Jane Morrow who will be working with CCA over the two-year period that will scope the current provision available for artists in the north. We will be talking to artists about their realities and needs to help shape longer-term artist support in our region.

The programme will begin in January and will include a combination of short training courses, mentoring, crits, surgeries, application feedback and other resources. The programme provides access support for artists that need it to reduce barriers to participation, and includes paid opportunities for artists to take risks and make experimental ideas a reality.
