Fiona Allan appointed as Marketing Officer at Wasps Studios, Scotland

CCA Derry~Londonderry warmly congratulate Fiona Allan on her appointment as Marketing Officer at Wasps Studios in her native Scotland. Fiona joined CCA in 2019 initially as our Marketing Assistant one day per week, and instantly became a core part of the team. She was promoted to Marketing & Digital Programmes Coordinator in 2021 as a reflection of the expansion of her role to three days per week to incorporate our burgeoning digital programmes.

During the pandemic Fiona was instrumental in expanding CCA's online activity including overhauling our website, taking it from our temperamental old site that would experience the 'white screen of death' and bringing it to the sleek and, crucially, functional site you see today. Fiona's curatorial background combined with her marketing experience helped CCA strengthen its brand and expand our online audiences through our social media takeovers @CCADLD, and supporting artists to use Instagram and Twitter as a medium in itself. Fiona curated our three 2021 digital residencies on our new website with artists Alberta Whittle, Cat & Éiméar McClay and Ciara Finnegan.

Fiona was part of the team when CCA became finalists in Art Fund Museum of the Year 2021 in recognition of our work throughout the pandemic. Fiona's role was new when she began in October 2019, and her legacy will be not only the way we communicate online and marketing our activity but also the care she took to nurture relationships with our audiences online and the artists we work with.
