Foreign Objects – exhibition opening
Join us for the opening of Foreign Objects on Saturday 6th August at 7pm. Foreign Objects is an exhibition of works by Robert Anderson, Laura Eldret, and Florian Roithmayr: artists who are concerned with the ways that physical processes and human interactions become estranged from – or embedded in – the objects that they produce.
The exhibition includes sculptures, video, and textiles which draw from references that include the rug-making traditions of the Zapotec community in Mexico (Laura Eldret); the fleshy materiality of Roman figurative sculpture (Robert Anderson); and the unforeseeable transformations that occur between competing material properties (Florian Roithmayr). In all cases, the physical body (and its labour) is routed through material processes that conduct the traces of human exchange.
This is a free event and all are welcome to attend.
