Laura McCafferty announced as Public Programmes Curator

The Board and Staff of CCA Derry~Londonderry are delighted to announce Laura McCafferty has been appointed to the position of Public Programmes Curator.

Laura is an artist and educator with a passion for public programming. She was born in the city, moving away for university firstly completing a Foundation course at Belfast’s University of Ulster, going on to study Decorative Arts at Nottingham Trent and then MFA Fine Art at Goldsmiths. Most recently, Laura has been an Associate Lecturer at Nottingham Trent and board member of UKNA and brings over 15 years of experience working with a broad range of constituents including artists, young people, students and those most marginalised in society with a view to creating meaningful experiences for all.

Laura says of her appointment “It is exciting to return to the city, where my own creative practice began.

I aim to bring my imagination and experience to the demands of the role. Continuing to build the thought-provoking Public Programme. I will work to develop events, create spaces of learning and maintain partnerships to support the integrity and ambitions of CCA.”

Catherine Hemelryk, Director of CCA said “I am thrilled to have Laura joining the team. I look forward to working with her as she brings her imagination, curiosity, sensitivity and enthusiasm to the role.”
