Open Call for Screen Printing Workshops / Activists and Groups
Running in parallel to What we recognise in others, and inspired by the collaborative aspects of Ciara Phillips’ practice, a series of hands-on screen-printing workshops will be offered over the next four months for activist and other special interest groups.
The Derry Print Workshop, with the support of the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, and in association with CCA, invite applications from interested groups who would like to learn the history of radical screen-printing in the city and beyond, and experiment with the printing process.
The Derry Print Workshop will take eight community and voluntary groups through the process of screen-printing in order to produce a series of prints, banners and posters. Campaign groups can apply, with priority given to groups who do not have a high public profile/advertising budget, and they will have an opportunity to work with artists and professional printers to produce works raising public awareness about their groups’ issues, ideas or activities.
Apply by email to sara@cca-derry-londonderry.org with a brief (no more than 200 words) explanation of how your group could benefit from participating in this project. Deadline 22nd January.
