Reciprocal Residency School's Programme Workshops
We are delighted to share news of our recent School's Programme Workshops. This was the first time, since before the pandemic, that the children have been able to return to the gallery. We have been delivering packs to the schools in order for the children to take part in specially designed activities, by watching videos created by our artist educators. It was even more special that we could finally welcome everyone back to the gallery to visit the exhibitions and take part in the workshop.
Artist educator Sarah McNabb designed a fun activity for the children to do in response the DeMo Reciprocal Residency exhibitions of artists Mark Buckeridge Ona Jucūitė.
The children made bunting from old shirts. They cut out triangles, learned how to use pinking shears, decorated their triangle with fabric markers, with a design of their own choice. Sarah then stitched each class' triangles together to make a string of bunting for the children to take back to school and decorate their classrooms. You can see the images from the sessions here.
Thank you to Oakgrove P.S., Scoil Eadain Mhoir P.S. and St. Oliver Plunketts P.S. for getting involved.
