CCA Introducing: Katrina Cobain

Announcing our second CCA Introducing takeover of 2024 with artist Katrina Cobain. Katrina was nominated by Renèe Helèna Browne, who previously took part in CCA Introducing in 2021. Katrina will be taking over our Instagram tomorrow, sharing work in progress and research from her most recent project ‘Kitten’.

Katrina Cobain is an interdisciplinary artist based in Glasgow, working in the mediums of performance, sculpture, writing and video. Her work explores the behaviour, personas and fronts invented by the late capitalist landscape, and the duality of feelings and cognitive dissonance they produce.

Katrina uses writing as a tool in correspondence with object making, to push a narrative forward. Through this crucial relationship in her practice she creates characters and worlds for the viewer to engage with.
