We’re excited to announce our next CCA Introducing with artist Lily O’Shea, which will take place on Friday 11 October 2024 across our Instagram @CCADLD. Lily was nominated to take part in CCA Introducing by the team at CCA.

During the takeover, Lily will create a virtual research table, reflecting on how anxieties about time and purpose have shaped her work and continue to resurface. Lily will share snippets from her publication ‘slow puncture’ and explore its ongoing influence, while also mapping her current research through insights from books she’s reading, alongside notes, screenshots and scraps from her practice.

Lily’s publication ‘slow puncture’ will be on display in CCA’s shop during the duration of the takeover.

About Lily O'Shea

Lily O’Shea is a visual artist based in Cork, working across sculpture, text, and performance. Her research-based practice weaves together political questions surrounding labour, time, and identity.

Lily’s current work looks at a shifting rhythm of time in contemporary culture, defined by a growing sense of immediacy and uncertainty. This research explores different methods of survival in a fluctuating ideological structure, while emphasizing the need to reclaim and redefine our relationship with time.

Lily is a studio member at Sample-studios in Cork and is kindly supported by the Arts Council of Ireland.

CCA Introducing is supported by Art Fund.
