Project Space: Ieva Kotryna Ski

Join us in welcoming artist Ieva Kotryna Ski to CCA Derry~Londonderry. Ieva is joining us from Lithuania, as part of our 2024 Reciprocal Residency programme with Kaunas Artist House and Lithuanian Culture Institute. In exchange Roisín McGuigan, an artist from the north of Ireland, will be spending time at Kauna’s Artist House this month.

During the residency, Ieva will develop an ongoing project that reflects on seaside holiday fantasies in the context of the Curonian Spit, and the selective observations by holidaymakers vacationing there. In addition, Ieva will spend her time in Derry~Londonderry and the surrounding coastline of the North West, exploring fractured landscapes and the term Síreacht, which broadly translates to longing in the context of Ireland and Lithunia.

The residencies will inform an exhibition, opening in April 2024.
