Writing Workshops with PVA and Guests
In conjunction with our exhibition, Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain, PVA (the journal of contemporary art criticism) delivers two day-long workshops on writing art criticism. These workshops are led by PVA editors and art critics Nathan O’Donnell and Marysia Wieckiewicz-Carroll, with talks by guest writers Rebecca O’Dwyer and Morgan Quaintance. These workshops are for writers at any level with an interest in writing about art.
Through a mixture of theoretical and practical exercises, participants engage as critics with the exhibition material, producing reviews and other texts in response. These are open and welcoming sessions, exploring some of the major questions facing the writer on visual art, and asking what it means to produce a regional art criticism.
